our mission
Our mission is to transform our clients’ ideas into market-changing products or services by understanding the relevant factors, applying imagination through critical thinking and focusing resources to create and increase value for users and industries.
In 1995, with professional engineering experience in consumer electronics, communications, commercial aircraft seating, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Monte organized a select group of mechanical designers and developers to support manufacturers in North Texas, and Point Innovation was born. Throughout these years, his leadership and guidance over a team of more than 50 engineers and designers have cultivated the company into an award-winning design, product development, and technical resources company serving over a hundred clients nationwide.
As a child growing up in Leoti, Kansas, Kip learned design and craftsmanship from his blacksmith grandfather. Later, he fell in love with the transportation field while frequenting the family’s car dealership, and his love of flying began with flight lessons from his father at the age of 20. Both interests turned into lifelong career choices, for Kip has more than 30 years of leadership roles in both design consultancies and some of the world’s top general aviation manufacturers of business jets, such as Learjet/Bombardier and Gulfstream. He joined Point 9 years ago, and is responsible for the daily operation of the company and our innovative product development process, while overseeing department managers in engineering, design and project management.
For the past ten years Nancy has served in the capacity of Assistant Controller, not only for Point Innovation, Inc., but for its other companies as well, namely, Point Innovation Technical Resources, Point Innovation Investments, LLC, and Lakeway Pointe, LLC. The MBA she earned, together with her professional work experience in the banking industry both in the U.S. and abroad, honed her skills to excel in these numerous current responsibilities. In addition, she is a certified online Quick Books Pro Advisor and serves on the Board of Directors for two non-profit organizations; the German Academic Exchange Service, and Heidelberg University North America.
Jean is part of the Technical Resources (staffing) division. For the past four years her responsibilities have included locating, screening, and matching technical professionals with job opportunities best suited to their talents and most compatible with our clients’ staffing support needs. Before joining Point Innovation she was a Communications Specialist for Zale Corporation, writing retail store manuals, sales guides and product information handbooks, and now utilizes her writing talents by composing or reviewing all the text Point generates.
Joyce joined Point Innovation more than six years ago. As Office Manager, she continues to keep the office operating efficiently while simultaneously attending to the needs of everyone on staff. Her career spans over twenty years of Administrative /Executive Assistant experience, working in the corporate offices of such renowned companies as Learjet and Applebee’s. Joyce is responsible for a wide range of assignments, such as payroll representative, travel arranger and human resources coordinator, and she manages to accomplish it all with a smile that motivates everyone.
the process for innovation
Product development is a balance between Business, Technology, and User (BTU) needs; so, we achieve our product solutions with the BTU design approach. This proven proprietary process provides a cost/value matrix ensuring a well-balanced solution that is innovative and to the point. The I-Point product development process phases include:
The goal of this phase is to establish design constraints early in the development process through research and client interaction. This phase will define the product requirement specifications, preliminary Bill of Materials (BOM), as well as budgetary tooling and units costs. The deliverables at this stage include: Product/System Requirements Documentation, Industrial Design (ID) concepts, basic 3D CAD models, and Mechanical design and Electrical design layout concepts
In this phase, our Industrial designers collaborate with our Mechanical design engineering team to generate a top-down master model that controls design intent for tooling and manufacturing. If applicable, the Innovate process also includes Electrical design and software programming development. This phase will continue to define the product requirements specifications, BOM, and tooling/unit costs. The deliverables of this phase include: fully detailed 3D CAD model renderings, a functional prototype, and production release data for manufacturing.
This phase paves the transition from design data to full-scale production. At this phase, our product engineers and manufacturing partners will perform detailed Design for Manufacturing and Production analyses to ensure a scalable, mass-manufacturable product solution. The deliverables at the end of this phase will be a detailed manufacturing analysis, distribution channel mapping and vendor data.
